Help shape inclusive brain health resources | Paid photoshoot in Melbourne

The MindCare Collective at La Trobe University is inviting people from multicultural communities in Melbourne to join a paid photoshoot focused on brain health and dementia prevention.

The photos will capture positive, everyday moments that reflect the strengths, wellbeing, and lived experiences of culturally diverse individuals and families, helping create more inclusive health promotion resources.

👥 Who we’re looking for:

We welcome expressions of interest from individuals aged 45+ from the following communities:

South Asian
Extreme Fitness
Middle Eastern
Extreme Fitness
Sub-Saharan African
Extreme Fitness
Pacific Islander

We especially encourage participation from people who would be comfortable being photographed:

Together with family members

🏡 About the photoshoot

Extreme Fitness
Location: Participant’s home (Melbourne only)
Extreme Fitness
Duration: Up to 6 hours
Extreme Fitness
Timing: To be scheduled (April–May 2026)
Extreme Fitness
Compensation: A total of $800 AUD will be provided for each photoshoot participation (up to 6 hours), whether the photoshoot involves one participant or one family. 

Please note: Participation is voluntary, and individuals will be contacted and selected based on project needs. Payment will only be made to participants selected and who complete the photoshoot.

🌱 What the photos will focus on

The photoshoot will capture positive, everyday moments that support brain health and wellbeing, such as spending time with family, cooking or sharing meals, light physical activity, social connection, relaxation, hobbies, and cultural practices.

These images will be used to support public health promotion, research communication, and educational resources for the wider community.

🔒 Consent and privacy

Before the photoshoot, participants will be asked to complete a consent form outlining how images may be used across promotional, educational, and public-facing materials, including websites, social media, reports, program modules, presentations, and other communications.Please read the consent form here for more details.
